Residents Complain About Mounting Garbage in Pulojahe TPS

Citizens living in Pulojahe, Jatinegara Urban Village, Cakung Sub-district are complaining on garbage heaps on the temporary waste disposal site (TPS), Pulojahe Dam. Besides rotten smell, garbage also scattered into Jl KRT Radjiman.

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, garbage heaps inside TPS is reaching more than three meters. Not only that, it also spills out into the sidewalk and Jl KRT Radjiman. Even, its existence also seen in Pulojahe Dam.

Ahmad (52), a citizen of RW 13 who serves as garbage transporter, garbage has not been transported almost one month. All this time, the TPS is often used by citizens in RW 07, 08 and 13, Jatinegara Urban Village. 

Garbage Heaps in TPS at RW 13 Penggilingan Complained by Locals

"Besides citizens from three RWs, other citizens also throw garbage in such TPS. That's why, garbage volume is huge," he expressed, Monday (8/22).

East Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-dept Head, Budi Mulyanto admitted, there are delays in garbage transportation. That is because of the long queue of truck at Bantar Gebang Landfill.

"Garbage management in Bantar Gebang is not stable. Thus truck queues can hit 10 hours.The impact is they had to cancel dispose the garbage," he told.

He promised to clean garbage in such TPS as soon as possible.
